If the OS has a python installation, you can always install Ansible using the python package.

From the Ansible docs:

Ansible can be installed via pip, the Python package manager. If pip isn’t already available on your system of Python, run the following commands to install it:

$ curl https://bootstrap.pypa.io/get-pip.py -o get-pip.py $ python get-pip.py --user

Then install Ansible:

$ pip install --user ansible

If the OS has a python installation, you can use Ansible to manage it.. Note that you should check the individual module requirements (for example the snap module) since they may have dependencies which cannot be satisfied by your OS.

In general though the modules are written in python and as such a python runtime is needed.
