We're currently undergoing an audit of our Azure infrastructure. We have a single Application Gateway deployed in a subnet. I can see that in this subnet there are some additional addresses up (2 of them, they're consecutive) that have services running on port 443 and 8081.

I know that Application Gateway reserves and configures additional addresses on the subnet but I can't find an explanation as to what they're running/used for. I also assume that they're not configurable at all by the end user...?

If I attempt a reverse lookup on the addresses, the names are:

vm000002.internal.cloudapp.net
vm000003.internal.cloudapp.net

Any ideas?

Thanks!
