I am trying to implement jenkins ci skip build. I tried SCM Skip plugin https://plugins.jenkins.io/scmskip/

It worked for me , whenever there was a regex matching .[ci skip]..

Unfortunately, This plugin is not suitable for one of my usecase,

Say we have two branches ,

A --> Has last commit message with regex .[ci skip]., thus build skipped for this branches

B --> Has last commit message with regex .[ci skip]., thus build skipped for this branches

But whenever I am merging branch B to A, the build still skips as it has ci skip regex in latest commits, I want build to run if there is a merge.

Could someone suggest any approach?

  • could a squash commit with a different message not solve the problem? – Bruce Becker Jan 15 at 12:16
