Yesterday, we had a downtime because of CPU 100% usage. When I checked new relic, it showed a few processes starting with snap.microk8s. taking all CPU power. I'm not familiar with microk8s. But, after a small search I found that it's related to Kubernetes. We aren't using Kubernetes in anyway (just a LAMP server). We haven't ever installed Kuberneters of microk8s on our servers. I assume it's default in Digitalocean's Ubuntu installation.

  1. What does microk8s do and why did microk8s use 100% of CPU suddenly?
  2. Is it okay to remove microk8s? If yes, how?
