I have setup my services using Istio Virtual Services. The URLs that applications external to the Kubernetes cluster use are controlled by a set of Gateway and Virtual Service resources that allow me to do Blue-Green deployments.

I am running into a bit of a problem with this for my Queues. RabbitMQ uses the amqp protocol, not http.

Can an Istio Virtual Service be setup to deal with an amqp protocol?

And if it can, can it support concepts like "headers" to help route the traffic?
