I find that when I'm building Docker containers in Windows I find myself waiting a lot with little information.

By contrast, builds in Linux show lots of useful information.

How can I get verbose, useful output during Windows Docker builds?

  • What docker do you use, e.g. docker toolbox, docker-for-windows? What Windows version? How does the output look like? Please build a docker image on Linux and Windows and post the command and output. – 030 Feb 27 '18 at 23:37
  • docker-for-windows edge channel latest – David West Feb 28 '18 at 16:11
  • Could you answer the other question as well? It would really help if you at least add the complete docker command you run in order to build the docker images. What image do you build? Could you add the Dockerfile so it is possible to reproduce the situation? – 030 Feb 28 '18 at 21:22
  • Windows 10 Enterprise. Command is docker build .. An example is GitHub.com/dbwest/net415. Output is light it uses a lot of power shell. Normally my Linux Dockerfile builds have tons of output from package managers, wget and curl, etc. – David West Mar 1 '18 at 13:57
  • It seems to be empty... – 030 Mar 1 '18 at 22:21
