I am running docker community edition on my Windows machine. It is windows 10 professional. I am trying to pull docker image for windows server 2016 using the following command:

docker pull microsoft/windowsservercore:ltsc2016 I am failing to download as I get the following error:

read tcp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:11421->204.79.197.219:443: wsarecv: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. when I directly opened the link for the above IP address on my machine then I got the following error:

windows docker repo down

I searched on the web but didn't find any solution. Please suggest a work around as this repo is down for more than a week.

  • What makes you think that the image is not available? This looks like the problem is with how you are expecting to interact with it. The repo says that the default entrypoint is cmd.exe - what does your Dockerfile say? – Bruce Becker Nov 2 '18 at 7:54
  • a simple "docker pull hello-world" is not even working. It works fine when I switch to linux containers. – user2842256 Nov 3 '18 at 8:31
  • I just tested on my home network and I am able to pull the windows server core. Looks like it has something to do with our office internet. – user2842256 Nov 3 '18 at 10:40
