I've been interested in computers since 1980 when I was working as a typesetter on a CompuGraphic typesetter. I bought a Timex Sinclair from K-Mart and played around with it. Then bought a Radio Shack Color Computer and learned to code in BASIC. One of my first programs was a Car Wars (board game) vehicle generation program. Since then I've written a lot of programs and scripts for personal and work use. I started off professionally as a programmer and moved into system administration with Novell, Microsoft, 3Com, then Windows NT and then to Solaris and Linux. I still use my programming skills to create scripts and create websites using PHP, Javascript, and MySql. I've taken on a DevOps role and am expanding my knowledge back into programming with CI/CD pipelines and other developer type tools.
